Club Championships
Once again this year, the Annual OAT Club Championships are being held at Guelph Lake. We participated as a club in this challenge last year and the participation by club members was impressive. So much so that we came second place in the participation competition (or was it third place). Well we'd like to try that again.

Rideau Lakes Ride by Alex Botelho
Wow what a trip that was. Such an experience. 2000 riders sharing the road. Very few incidents. Tandems, recumbent and even a Unicycle participated. I was not sure what to expect of the trip other then a long ride.

Victoria's Duathlon by Larry Bradley
Hard to complain when we finally receive some warm, summer conditions but when we have not had a chance to train in the heat, you know it will become an issue at some stage in the race. Victoria's Duathlon in Waterloo, Ontario is one of the earlier events in the province so

Disney Princess Half Marathon
Hi everyone – I thought you might like an idea of what it was like to be at Disney!
Last Spring I began to run on a regular basis, two or three times a week. Usually the runs were between 5 and 8 kilometers, the odd time 10 km.

RIDE REPORT: LONDON TO PARIS; SEPTEMBER 9 – 12, 2009 by Doug Foster
As you can see from the title, this is a ride report, not a race report. As a gift for one of those "significant number" birthdays, my daughter Jenn and her husband Dan, who live in London, England, signed me up for a 4 day ride starting in the south end of London, and finishing at the Eiffel Tower in Paris.

Wintercross 5k Cross-country race
What a flash back the Wintercross 5k race was this weekend in Guelph. I had not competed in a XC running race since my high school days and I definitely had a blast reliving those days.

2009 Ironman 70.3 World Championships by Bill Vieira
On September 13th, 2009, I participated in the Muskoka 70.3 Triathlon and was fortunate to get a qualifying spot for the 70.3 World Championships during the rolldown that took place after the race. Almost immediately after Muskoka, the weather turned colder/windier/wetter and the days became shorter. It also saw the hibernation of my training partners and I must admit a little lack of motivation on my part.

Road 2 Hope Marathon Race Report by Larry Bradley
Race morning was dark and a little chilly when I parked at Confederation Park in Hamilton. I seemed to be an early arrival so I made my way through the kit pick up very quickly and headed back to my car to get down to the essentials.

Beach2Battleship Iron Distance Race Report by Dianne Morrison
The race day morning was 40 degrees so the water temperature of 67 was quite nice. The run from the swim to the bikes was about 400 yards, way too long and on cold feet.

Ironman Kentucky Race Report by Ed Dillon
It is hard to imagine that just over 2 years ago I wasn't able to run one block without losing my breath and having to walk. It is hard to imagine that just over 2 years ago I weighed 45 pounds more than I do today. And it is hard to imagine that if you had said to me in 2 years you will complete an Ironman triathlon I would have thought you were nuts.

Lakeside 2 - Sprint Triathlon (Larry Bradley)
With my duathlon racing all wrapped up for 2009, I figured it was time to get some open water experience for 2010. The HSBC Triathlon Series' Lakeside 2 aligned perfectly with my previous schedule and allowed me to stay in game shape while getting a few weeks of swimming under my belt.

Guelph II - Duathlon Race Report by Larry Bradley
What a great way to wrap up the 2009 Subaru Duathlon season! I was accompanied to the race by a truck load of fans (my aunt, brother, niece and step-nephew) willing to pull themselves out of bed early Saturday morning. The skies were as clear as one could wish for and there was hardly a hint of wind. Perfect racing conditions!

Working in T1 Iron Man USA, a volunteer made a surprising observation- some, a notable few; of the women competitors had lipstick in their transition bag! Not lip balm, Vaseline, lip sun screen but lipstick.

2009 IronMan Lake Placid - race report by Klaus Fritzsche
My day started at 4:15 AM. This was a new first - most triathlons have you getting up pretty early due to the nature of the race - but this was REALLY early!

Niagara Spring by Larry Bradley
The 2009 Niagara Duathlon was not on my schedule heading into this weekend but I was itching to race a short distance event since we have been racing many international and long distances for the past few months. I was able to trade in a few tasks around the house for an extra racing pass and just hoped the weather would hold up so we could go fast.

Le Tour de Terra Cotta by Mark Botelho
What a day, well it started off the night before or should I say, the morning of, getting to bed at 1:00am, butterflies excitement, yes, I felt like a child who was about to go on his first plane ride.

Le Tour de Terra Cotta by Larry Bradley
To say cycling events are a different type of racing than triathlon or duathlon is a major understatement.

Le Tour de Terra Cotta
On a perfect mid-summer morning, five cyclists all wearing Falcon blue lined up at the back of the 200 plus peleton with no premonition that their "race" was over before it had even begun.

Gravenhurst International Duathlon by Larry Bradley
This past weekend I participated in my third provincial duathlon championship. The 2009 edition took place on July 18th in the very scenic Gravenhurst, Ontario. For the second year in a row the HSBC Triathlon Series picked up the event and threw another challenging course at us duathletes.

Going into the Guelph Lakes I weekend, I was feeling a little tired from a busy month of racing and training. This is my third duathlon race in four weekends and I have been putting in some solid training since January so it feels like time to rest.

Muskoka Duathlon Race Report - by Larry Bradley
Race day started out very early as I headed out from my brother-in-laws place in Bracebridge. Steve lives only 20 minutes from the race so it made sense to save some dough and accept the kind invitation.

Doug Foster's report on the Ride to Conquer Cancer

Ride Report - Don valley Bike Path by Lynne Atkinson
I know this is not the usual type of report submitted and although I wish I could have been in Muskoka, I tried something different today in my training. I will call it the "Discover Toronto" training ride.

2009 Milton Du by Larry Bradley
In my third year of racing, I am starting to realize that I have to expect the unexpected. If I don't, I am going to walk away from almost every event in a negative frame of mind.
