10469189_10153317048921955_4146826150911932133_nMay 20th – 23rd
We are headed north – and we think you should come with us. Our annual training weekend in Muskoka at Clyffe House is coming up quickly.
Space is limited – so send us an email to reserve your spot.
Pricing will be dependent on the number of people who sign up – current estimated cost is $150 to $200 per person for the full long weekend (3 nights!).

Workout Leaders

Group Rides
With the roads cleared of snow – we are now out riding on Saturdays (although, with a few extra layers to keep us warm). But – we are in need of some of our slightly more experienced members to lead a ride or two. There isn’t much to it besides deciding when and where you want to start your ride, then picking your distance and your route. There is no expectation that you are available to lead a ride every weekend – and the more leaders we have, the more we can offer our members. Send us an email if you are interested.

Other Workouts
In addition to looking for ride leaders, we are always interested in promoting other workouts that may be of interest to our members. So if you are planning a run, a swim, know of a great yoga class, or have something new and fun to try, just send us an email and we will share with the group!

Memberships
Don’t forget to sign up for your FMCT membership. There are two key parts to obtain your membership – complete the Registration page; then select and purchase your membership option(s) from the Online shop.

One of our popular membership training options is the Open Water Swim. You MUST obtain your own TO membership from the Triathlon Ontario website to participate in this training (for insurance purposes). You would then select the Open Water Swim product from our Online shop. You are not required to also purchase the FMCT membership, but we recommend it as this gives you access to special Member pricing at all of our training events.

100-Day Run Challenge
There are only a few days left in this challenge – for those who are signed up, make sure you access the spreadsheet and log your runs. You need to enter each run individually as it is the number of runs (30 minutes or longer) not your distance that determines your achievement level.

Adopt-a-Road

April 17th
We will be meeting at Creditview Public School at 8:30 am, with a few minutes for mingling and organizing. The clean-up will last about 2 hours.

We have added our event to Facebook – as we know quite a few of our members like to connect with us there. Please RSVP via the event or send us an email – we would like to know how many will be attending so we have enough gear for all.

July 24th
This Simulation day will include an Open Water Swim (lake conditions dependent), and an outdoor ride departing straight from Professor’s Lake. (No need to pack up your stuff and drive to the next spot.) There will be bike racks and refreshments (and lots of ice for afterwards). And we will guard your stuff while you are out pushing yourself in your workout.

Muskoka Training Weekend

May 20th to 23rd
Our popular and super-fun Muskoka training weekend will be held over the long weekend this year. This is planned so you have even more opportunities to enjoy the getaway and get some quality training in. We are estimating a cost of $150-$200/person for the 3 nights. (Price is dependent on the number of people who attend.)
There are a limited number of spots – so email us to reserve yours before it is too late.

Upcoming Workouts

Wednesday March 30th
Spin Class: 7-9pm @ South Fletchers (Craft Room)
This is our final spin class of the season – come on out to help us end the session with a bang. (The bang being excitement … not someone falling off their bike.)

Thursday March 31st
Strength Class: 8-9pm @ TheTrainStation (490 Bramalea Rd, Suite 4B)

Upcoming Events

11231158_10153737283809047_7719287642331962988_oAdopt-a-Road
We will be gathering together on April 17th to clean up our section of Mississauga Road. It isn’t glamorous and it doesn’t even pay well … but it is somehow still fun. It might be the “treasures” we find along the side of the road, or it might be the company – but either way, we appeal to you (our members and friends) to take the time out of your weekend activities to join us to help make this road a cleaner and more enjoyable place to ride.
We are just confirming details – but clean-up will likely be starting at 8:30am, and we will use our usual meeting place at Creditview Public School. Please send us an email if you are able to help out – it usually takes about two hours or so.

Run4Hope
If you are looking for a fun spring race – you don’t need to look any further. There are still spots left, so hop on over to the Run4Hope website and get yourself signed up!
If you aren’t looking for a spring race – and would like to help out with this event, please send an email to the coordinator at run4hope@outlook.com

There are still some drop-in spots available – and we have trainers available to rent for the class if you do not have your own. Our coach leads a challenging workout, but this class is definitely for all abilities and skill levels.

Thursday March 24th
Strength Class: 8-9pm @ TheTrainStation (490 Bramalea Rd, Suite 4B)

WasagaSpring & Summer Workouts

To help you plan for your spring and summer training – the following is a high level review of what we are planning on offering this year:

Pool Swim will continue on Tuesdays through to the end of May

Track Workout will start mid-May and will be on Wednesdays in May, the Track Workouts will change to Tuesdays after the Pool Swim is finished

Lake Swim will start up on Thursdays in June, with a number of Sunday swims planned as well. We will likely have many members heading out for a 3-9km run after the swim on the path around Professor’s Lake

Group Rides will start up on Saturdays (and some Sundays) once the weather is a little warmer and the roads a little less mucky on the edges

Adopt-a-Road – April 17th

Twice each year the club heads out to clean up our stretch of Mississauga road.
The Adopt-a-Road program is something many local clubs and groups do to support the overall cleanliness of our region. But in our case it is also a little bit self-serving – because we tend to cycle along this road throughout the summer. Send us an email to let us know you are coming (so we have enough gloves, etc).

Run4Hope – April 24th

The 12th Annual Run4Hope race is coming up soon. Don’t forget to sign up to participate (Run4Hope) or to volunteer.
